Dr János Fancsik, Honorary President of Global Citizen Hungary
János has gained experience in several fields during his career spanning over fifty years.Specialized in rheumatology and internal medicine, Janos spent exactly 50 years in the medical field. He worked as the director of the 700-bed county hospital for many years and became a cabinet member of the Hungarian Association of Rheumatologists.
Thanks to his great communication skills and extensive social network, he was elected as Member of Parliament and thus served two terms in a political role.His keen interest in nature and photography has led him to author and illustrate several books on the unique geographical features and wildlife of his countryside.
After retiring in 2000, he devoted even more time for his hobbies: writing and photography. Janos has traveled widely across the country to explore different regions and cultural areas.
His keen interest in global issues, his devotion to people and his endless energy to create something new led him to join the Global Citizen Group in 2008. Currently, his working on a biographical novel detailing the history of his beloved hometown.
Sára Hajgató, Creative Director of the Global Citizen Hungary
Sára has extensive foreign life- and work experience with over 10 years of first-hand international know-how under her belt.
With experience in both the for-profit and the non-pofit sector, starting with a background in the textile industry, Sara has gained experience in the fields of design, communication and media. Working as editor-in-chief for a leading fashion-oriented website and as journalist and editor for various publications, she has over 8 years of experience in the fashion business.
Via teaching and volunteering in Cambodia she has gained practical know-how about project management and project implementation as well as relocation to Asia. Living in London and Cairo she also has experience with the intercultural aspects of life in Europe and Africa.
Working as a media analyst at a leading communications agency in Budapest she has also experienced the world of PR and has extensively worked as translator and language teacher, specilizing in Business English and technical texts.
Sara speaks 4 languages and has an MA in English Language and Literature. She is a keen traveller with an interest in cross-cultural dialogue, contemporary arts and textiles in particular.
